Sea Buckthorn Berry — Wild Himalayan, 100% Natural | Pahari Haat

Product Details

Pahari Haat Sea Buckthorn Berry — locally known as Leh Berry — is 100% wild-harvested from high-altitude Ladakh, hand-picked by local women at altitudes above 3,000 metres. No farms, no chemicals, no shortcuts. 50g, FSSAI certified.

Deep in the high-altitude valleys of Ladakh, where the air is pure and the soil untouched, grows one of the Himalayas' most concentrated superfoods. The extreme climate — harsh winters, intense UV radiation and minimal rainfall — forces the plant to develop exceptionally high nutrient density, which is why wild Ladakhi sea buckthorn is considered among the finest in the world.

What Is Sea Buckthorn Berry?

Sea Buckthorn Berry — locally known as "Leh Berry" — is the fruit of Hippophae rhamnoides, a hardy shrub that grows wild in high-altitude Himalayan regions, including Ladakh. Unlike farmed berries, wild sea buckthorn thrives in extreme cold, intense UV exposure and minimal rainfall — conditions that concentrate its natural nutrient content.

Benefits

Naturally Rich in Vitamin C

Published research on sea buckthorn shows it contains significantly more vitamin C by weight than oranges — some studies report up to 12x more (Bal et al., Food Research International). Vitamin C is a well-established nutrient that supports normal immune system function as part of a balanced diet.

A Rare Plant Source of Omega-7

Sea buckthorn is one of the few plant-based sources of Omega-7 (palmitoleic acid), a fatty acid that has been studied for its role in skin and metabolic health, alongside Omega-3, 6 and 9.

A Traditional Ladakhi Staple

Sea buckthorn has long been part of Ladakhi diets, historically valued by mountain communities as a nutrient-dense food during physically demanding high-altitude work.

Rich in Antioxidant Compounds

The berries contain a range of naturally occurring antioxidant compounds, including flavonoids and beta-carotene, alongside over 190 bioactive nutrients identified in the plant.

Contains Calcium, Magnesium & Vitamin K

These nutrients contribute to normal bone maintenance as part of an overall balanced diet.

Beta-Carotene & Omega Fatty Acids

Beta-carotene and Omega-3/6 fatty acids are dietary components generally associated with normal vision and cognitive function.

FAQs

Are these berries wild-harvested or farmed?
They are 100% wild-harvested. Pahari Haat Sea Buckthorn grows naturally in Ladakh's wild valleys above 3,000 meters and is never chemically treated, ensuring superior nutrient density.

Why is Ladakh Sea Buckthorn considered the best?
Ladakh's extreme climate—harsh UV radiation, freezing temperatures, and glacial soil—forces the plant to produce exceptionally high nutrient concentrations as a survival mechanism.

How many berries are in 50g?
A 50g pack contains roughly 400-500 dried berries. At a daily dose of 10-15 berries, one pack provides a full month's supply.

What do Sea Buckthorn Berries taste like?
They are naturally tangy and sour, similar to amla. We recommend consuming them as tea, in smoothies, or infused in honey for the best taste.

Why choose Pahari Haat over other brands?
Unlike brands that vaguely claim "Himalayan" origins, our berries are verifiably wild-harvested from Ladakh and hand-picked by local women, ensuring zero middlemen and uncompromising quality.
