About Us
From the Himalayas, With Honesty
High in the Kumaon Himalayas, near the quiet mountain village of Kasar Devi, Pahari Haat began with a simple belief:
The most extraordinary things do not always come from factories. Sometimes, they come from small farms, forest trails, village homes and the hands of people who have quietly preserved their knowledge for generations.
This is the world Pahari Haat comes from.
A world where herbs are still carefully gathered and dried, traditional recipes are remembered rather than manufactured, farmers understand the rhythm of the seasons, and craftsmanship is not a trend but a way of life.
We started Pahari Haat to bring a part of this world to you.
Not by changing it.
Not by industrialising it.
But by respecting it.
More Than a Himalayan Brand
Pahari Haat is built around the people and produce of the Himalayan region.
We work with women artisans, farmers and rural communities across Uttarakhand to bring together a distinctive collection of Himalayan teas, herbs, spices, honey, superfoods, traditional foods and handcrafted products.
But for us, authenticity means more than simply putting the word “Himalayan” on a package.
It means knowing where our products come from.
It means working closer to the people who grow, gather and create them.
It means respecting traditional knowledge.
It means choosing careful preparation over unnecessary shortcuts.
And above all, it means being honest about what we offer.
Real products. Real places. Real people.
That is what Pahari Haat stands for.
Why Pahari Haat Exists
The Himalayan villages are rich in something the modern world is slowly losing:
Knowledge. Tradition. Craftsmanship. And a deep understanding of nature.
Yet behind this richness lies another reality.
Many small farmers and rural artisans struggle to find sustainable markets for what they grow and create. Traditional skills are slowly disappearing. Younger generations often leave the mountains in search of better livelihood opportunities elsewhere.
We believed there had to be a better way.
A way to bring authentic Himalayan products to people across India while creating meaningful and dignified livelihood opportunities within the mountains.
That belief became Pahari Haat.
From Their Hands to Your Home
Behind every Pahari Haat product is a journey.
A farmer.
An artisan.
A village.
A landscape.
A tradition.
Sometimes, it begins with herbs growing in the Himalayan region.
Sometimes, with ingredients cultivated on small farms.
Sometimes, with a traditional recipe remembered across generations.
And sometimes, with the skilled hands of a woman artisan creating something that carries the cultural identity of her home.
We work to bring these products and stories closer to you.
Because we believe you deserve to know more about the things you bring into your home.
Where they come from.
How they are made.
And who your purchase supports.
Our Home in the Himalayas
Rooted in Kasar Devi
Pahari Haat is rooted near Kasar Devi, Almora, in the Kumaon Himalayas of Uttarakhand.
This is more than simply our location.
It shapes who we are.
The mountains, forests, farms, villages and communities around us continue to inspire everything we do.
Living and working here has taught us something important:
Good things cannot always be rushed.
Nature follows its own rhythm.
Farming follows seasons.
Traditional skills take patience.
Trust takes time.
And we believe a meaningful business should respect all of them.
That philosophy lies at the heart of Pahari Haat.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To bring authentic Himalayan products and traditional knowledge closer to modern homes while creating sustainable and dignified livelihood opportunities for rural women, artisans and farming communities.
Through Pahari Haat, we want to build a bridge.
A bridge between the mountains and the people who value what comes from them.
Between traditional knowledge and modern lifestyles.
Between rural producers and conscious consumers.
And between every purchase and the real human story behind it.
Our Values
Purity
We carefully source products and ingredients from the Himalayan region, keeping quality, authenticity and responsible preparation at the heart of what we do.
Transparency
We believe you deserve to know where your products come from and understand the story behind them.
Community Impact
Our work is connected with rural women, artisans and farming communities, helping create meaningful opportunities and sustainable livelihoods in the Himalayan region.
Tradition
We respect the knowledge, skills, recipes and practices that Himalayan communities have preserved across generations.
Honesty
We do not believe in miracle promises or exaggerated claims.
Just authentic Himalayan products, meaningful stories and an honest effort to bring the goodness of the mountains closer to you.
An Initiative with a Larger Purpose
Pahari Haat operates under Project Udyogini, an initiative of Kartavya Karma Trust.
The purpose behind the initiative goes beyond selling products.
It is about creating opportunities.
Supporting rural livelihoods.
Encouraging women-led enterprise.
Connecting farmers and artisans with wider markets.
And helping traditional Himalayan knowledge and skills remain economically relevant for future generations.
For us, business and impact are not two separate things.
They are part of the same journey.
